We Believe:<\/h3>

  • Jesus Christ is the one and only son of God who died for our sins and arose from the dead.<\/li>\n
  • The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God.<\/li>\n
  • The forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who accept Christ as Lord and Savior. To accept Christ, a person needs to repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized into Him. (John 3:16; Romans 10:9; Acts 2:38)<\/li>\n
  • Our God is a God of Second Chances and New Beginnings. We are quick to confess that we are not perfect. We are sinners. But we are sinners who have found forgiveness and a second chance. A fresh start in life given through a relationship with Jesus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    When leaving from Bath towards Washington, Athens Chapel is about 2 miles beyond the bridge and just before White Post store. You can spot us easily past the fields on the right hand side of the road.<\/p>\n

    While driving from Washington, travel south on Highway 264\/92 until the split at Midway. Keep right to remain on Hwy 92. We will be on your left after about 3.4 miles. You will see a True Value hardware store on your right as you pass White Post store. Start slowing down; we are the church on your left.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

    Chris Hux has served as minister at Athens Chapel Church of Christ since 2009. He is from Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and received a Bachelor's degree from Mid-Atlantic Christian University and Master's degree in New Testament Studies from Johnson Christian University. Chris and his wife Jessica have two children, Mariah and Ben.<\/p>\n
